Welcome to RetroVersion - a hobbyist blog dedicated to analog to digital conversion of life's great moments.
First off, there are many great resources online to address this topic. I'll share links to the ones that I find beneficial. What I plan to focus on here are my lessons-learned. What has helped me to create high quality conversions of old analog media.
Second, the things that I discuss will be in compliance with the laws in the United States. Your mileage in other nations may vary. I won't be posting anything on illegally circumventing someone else's copyright. BUT, I might get into a discussion of how to determine who holds the copyright of a particular old video and what to do if you determine what to do if that can't be determined. E.G. what do you do if the photographer who took your wedding video is deceased and the business is defunct? Who hold the copyright then?
